The European consortium that was originally established as LETS Communicate EEIG in 2006 and was renamed TextMinded EEIG in 2011 has been dissolved by its members, effective as of 18 February 2015. The member companies are the four language solution partners Leinhäuser Language Services GmbH (Germany), TextMinded Danmark A/S (Denmark), Translator Scandinavia AB (Sweden) and Stoquart SA (Belgium).
In October 2014, the members decided during a group meeting in Munich to transfer the name “TextMinded” to the Danish partner. The purpose of the unanimous decision was to draw a clear distinction between the consortium and TextMinded Danmark, which was formerly called EICOM. The name of the Danish partner was changed in the first quarter of 2012 as part of its merger with the translation company Oversætterhuset. Under the partners’ original plan, all companies in the consortium were to be known as TextMinded and were to attach their particular country’s name as a suffix. Ultimately, this plan was not pursued. As a result the members decided that TextMinded Danmark may take over and do business under the TextMinded name, without using any country designation.
Following the transfer of the name rights to TextMinded Danmark, the consortium is hereby permanently dissolved. All the group members will continue to do business in the market as independent players.
Dimitri Stoquart, the chairman of the Mons-based consortium, welcomed the decision: “Over the past nine years, the group’s members have created a ‘circle of trust’ that will remain in place long after the consortium has been dissolved. Because we have no plans to jointly do business under a new name, we have decided against having a formal organization.
